Best beaches on Lošinj island – From secluded coves to family-friendly bays

Lošinj Island is a paradise for beach lovers, offering a mix of pebble bays, rocky coves, and sandy escapes, all surrounded by crystal-clear Adriatic waters. Whether you’re looking for peace, family fun, or natural beauty, the island’s coast delivers.

Near Nerezine, start your beach-hopping at Lučica, a calm bay just 300 meters from Villa Amorosa. Continue on to Rapoca and Galboka, two peaceful beaches tucked along pine-shaded paths – perfect for swimming or lazy afternoons with a book.

Further south, in Čikat Bay near Mali Lošinj, you’ll find Veli Žal, a well-maintained, shallow beach popular with families. Its calm waters and nearby cafés make it ideal for kids, while the surrounding park offers natural shade and relaxation.

For something wilder, venture to Krivica Bay, a hidden gem only accessible by boat or footpath. Its turquoise waters and untouched nature make it a favorite among couples and adventurous swimmers.

And if you’re in search of a true sandy beach, set aside a day for a boat trip to the nearby island of Susak. Known for its fine sand and shallow sea, Susak’s main beach Spiaza is ideal for small children and anyone craving that soft-underfoot feel. It’s reachable by taxi boat or regular ferry from Mali Lošinj and well worth the detour.

Wherever you choose to dip in, Lošinj’s beaches are more than just places to swim — they’re part of the island’s charm, rhythm, and natural healing experience.
